WeRobotics Power of Local (2019)

In the summer of 2019, Sonja Betschart, co-founder of the non-profit WeRobotics came to us via our dear friend and fellow filmmaker, Beth Cohen (check her out, she rocks). Sonja wanted us to help her tell the story of the Power of Local. What is the Power of Local, you ask? It’s the result of mixing local experts with awesome, yet affordable tech in the Southern Hemisphere. What does that result look like? Watch the video to find out, but in a nutshell, it’s useful data helping to save lives and make lives better in a sustainable and locally-sourced way.

For this film we asked members of WeRobotics’ Flying Labs across the southern hemisphere to tell their story. We crafted a script based upon this input and then went back to those same humans and asked them to film themselves. What we got was raw, honest and beautiful. Seriously, watch the film.
