Red Cross Y-Adapt Films (2021)

In the fall of 2020, Sanne Hogesteeger of the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre asked us to help them train the facilitators for their new Y-Adapt program. Y-Adapt is a youth-led educational program that teaches young people across the world how to help their communities adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change. It’s an incredible program of both hope and practicality.

The Climate Centre asked us if we could create a series of films to train facilitators who would then be tasked with taking youth from across the globe through the program. With COVID-19 impacting every aspect of our lives and making it impossible to safely film in settings across the planet, we decided to rely heavily on animation. The resulting nine films are a combination of animation and live-action facilitator-led training scenarios that make learning how to lead a Y-Adapt session fun and engaging.

We’re nearly finished with the films now and look forward to sharing them here as soon as they’re launched on Earth Day (April 22) 2021.
