James Taylor - "There We Were" (2013 - 2015)

Goodfocus worked for over 14 months on a documentary around James Taylor's first album of new material since 2002 - 'Before This World.' The original concept was to create a single film about the genesis and production of one song, however, over time the project grew to take on a much larger scope, ultimately encompassing numerous mini-docs about specific songs from the album and a 38 minute documentary featurette released as a special package with the album and for online streaming. 

The short film above follows the story of one of the songs on James' new album, "Today, Today, Today." 

Goodfocus had the great fortune of working with an incredible array of filmmakers and music professionals during the production and post-production of these films. It truly takes a village to bring a project of this scope to life.
